friday’s five

This week seemed to take FOR-EV-ER. I am so happy that it is Friday. I’ve got a project to work on over the weekend (a PAYING one!) and I’ve already decided it will be circus themed. I’ve only ever been to one circus in my life. It was very small and sad because the animals were a bit pitiful (I was only 5 or so). But I digress.

My morning was fraught with peril (I’ve always wanted to say that) due to a near miss on my way to work. I’m already an anxious driver so when I see someone wobbling around through traffic without a care in the world it freaks me out. The important thing is I arrived to work unscathed and I am thankful.

And hey! It’s time for five links!

Have a lovely (and safe) weekend everybody!

1. You are more beautiful than you think 101 via Real Beauty Sketches – Dove

“…only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful.”

2. ” ZERO”  via Zealous Creative:

“How can nothing be something?”

3. Chocolate Dream Cake via Rebekka Seale

“I love cake more than any other edible thing. Even if it does make me feel like a stuffy cake person in a sea of ‘pie people’.”

4. my kind of project  via Maker Mama

“I’m no expert seamstress, but I know my way around a sewing machine well enough to work on this fun Fiesta dress redo.”

5. Of Saturdays and that via James Hance

“Every day I get to stand in front of nothing, and turn it into something.”

– Mr. Hance’s link is my favorite of the week because it reminded me of a post I wrote a few years ago:
“Every blog post I write or piece of art I create is a new beginning for me. I’m creating in a space that was previously empty and nothing then becomes something… Healing and sharing of myself through my art and writing is something I strive to do every day. My hope is that my creative self shines so brightly that it can never be hidden away again. The most important thing I can tell someone about nurturing their creative self is: do not let anyone or any bad situation consume you…”
