farmer’s market fall desktop wallpapers

It’s officially Fall and that means seasonal desktop wallpapers – 15 of them, ya’ll! It won’t get chilly here in Florida until December/January, but the nights and mornings have been cooler lately, which is a nice change. I’m about to make a Target run, yay weekend! My beagle has been sick since July, lots of […]

plant lady

Almost every weekend I’m at the nursery staring at plants and flowers wondering which would do best at the house. We’ve got some minimal landscaping going on, it’s all low maintenance and survived the few hard freezes we’ve had without any problems (go plants!) I’ve got a few medium sized potted plants (rubber plant, lamb’s […]

farm fresh winter desktop wallpaper

click to download 2560×1600 desktop wallpaper We’re going to get cold weather this weekend in Jacksonville! Below freezing on Sunday according to the news. I’m planning on cozying up with hot cocoa and the furry children, watching Christmas movies and, of course, continuing to move my things from the tiny townhouse to the new house…which […]

let go. show up. repeat.

This is such a relatable quote. Over the weekend I was working on a project for the blog and started to feel anxious about getting everything just right. I started rebranding a couple weeks ago and I’m still feeling things out. It was only after a little therapeutic paper crafting… …that I began to calm […]

breaking bread

I conducted an experiment last weekend where I followed this recipe for Cranberry Swirl Bread, traded out the cranberries for apricot preserves, and used gluten-free flour instead of regular ol’ all-purpose flour. IT. WAS. A. COMPLETE. DISASTER. I started over with regular flour (because failure is not an option and I was making BREAD, damnit!). […]

paper trees

My latest paper project is this Stacked Triangle Tree. It was easy, took less than an hour to come together and it’s a pretty versatile project. There are many options for embellishments. You can draw on them with metallic markers (like I did), paint (puffy paint!), spray them with glitter (of course!), or make them […]

🤎 Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light. -Brene Brown Anytime I mix fruit and florals I am reminded of that one summer I painted fruit on signage for the local plant nursery where I also watered plants, and maybe definitely took naps on giant bags of mulch. 🤎 Braved a wisteria bumblebee gauntlet twice today on our walk. 🐝 Off to grandma’s house to check on the peonies. Everything seems to be blooming late this year. It’s been a day, y’all. When my daughter fell asleep earlier than usual for her nap I knew she wasn’t feeling 💯. Took her temp and she had a fever. 🤦🏻‍♀️ A bee visits around 100 flowers per foraging flight, with a maximum speed of up to 19 miles per hour. When things feel heavy (and my daughter is fast asleep) I retreat into what I call my aimeecave. In the cave I detach a bit and pour myself into a project or three. Projects with no expectations; took some watercolor and procreate classes on Skillshare, then watched some Netflix. Also went and got a check-up and scheduled my mammogram.
