plant lady

Almost every weekend I’m at the nursery staring at plants and flowers wondering which would do best at the house. We’ve got some minimal landscaping going on, it’s all low maintenance and survived the few hard freezes we’ve had without any problems (go plants!) I’ve got a few medium sized potted plants (rubber plant, lamb’s […]

love you more

It’s a beautiful day here in Northeast Florida. We’ve been cleaning house and getting things done. All the windows are open and there’s a breeze fluffing up the curtains. The cat is mesmerized, the dog is napping on the couch and I just ate my lunch; a bowl of quinoa, black beans, scallions, mushrooms, tomatoes, […]

Tuesday night I was feverishly digging in the dirt and the dark, planting shrubberies, little purple flowers that I don’t know the name of and blindly spreading mulch […]

bloom

I’ve never been great with plants. That’s what I tell myself, anyway. Last weekend I went ahead and got three separate potted plants and much to my surprise they are thriving. I bought a rose bush, impatiens and some other mix of purple and white flowers. It was a bit daunting for me to choose […]

pen friend

I woke up in a cheerful mood this morning, in spite of myself. I’ve had some pain the last few days and I was feeling a bit loony but I’ve taken ibuprofen every 4 hours for the last 2 1/2 days and I’m at least mobile. I’ll start my next Whole30 tomorrow. After 2 relapses […]

Always 🤎 Take a deep breath, and a moment to be proud of all the progress you’ve made. 🤎 🤎 Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Everything seems to be blooming late this year. It’s been a day, y’all. When my daughter fell asleep earlier than usual for her nap I knew she wasn’t feeling 💯. Took her temp and she had a fever. 🤦🏻‍♀️
