tiny miracle

My beagle won’t poop in the rain. Sunday morning there was a storm that included flash flood warnings. I knew then (at 6am when the obnoxiously loud weather alarm sounded on my cell) that this was going to be a rough day for my little muppet. I’m not sure if it’s a beagle trait, but […]

holly jolly

After my last post (about being a light in so much dark), I decided to make the most of the weekend and get my Christmas cards ready. They are adorable, I am biased of course since every year the card has my dog on it in some form or another. This year the cats also […]

eat, drink, and be furry

BIG SURPRISE. I put my beagle on this year’s Christmas card. It’s no real surprise. Mac is on the card EVERY year.  He’s my monster, after all.  The cats don’t know yet that they didn’t get spot on the card… 1. because they are cats and  2. because cats don’t give a sh*t. So, I […]

it happens

This story is a good example of me “going with the flow” as opposed to “nuclear meltdown”. We’ve all had those days where the sh*t hits the fan and we handled it poorly. But when we deal with crisis and do a great job we should take notice… because we are awesome! We totally got […]

so there

All the furry children are asleep. Mac and I went for a walk and now he is laying on the ottoman next to my desk snoring. He is still dirty from his roll in the backyard but I know when to pick my battles and when to let sleeping dogs lie. After our walk, I […]

peter and the wolf

After my prescribed kitty cat parade view this morning, I clicked on the TV for some Saturday morning cartoons while I made coffee and tried to get Mac to come back into the house. I cleaned and treated his ears when we woke up and once he got outside he started rolling in the grass […]

Always 🤎 Take a deep breath, and a moment to be proud of all the progress you’ve made. 🤎 🤎 Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light. -Brene Brown Anytime I mix fruit and florals I am reminded of that one summer I painted fruit on signage for the local plant nursery where I also watered plants, and maybe definitely took naps on giant bags of mulch. 🤎 Braved a wisteria bumblebee gauntlet twice today on our walk. 🐝 Off to grandma’s house to check on the peonies. Everything seems to be blooming late this year. It’s been a day, y’all. When my daughter fell asleep earlier than usual for her nap I knew she wasn’t feeling 💯. Took her temp and she had a fever. 🤦🏻‍♀️
