Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.

A bee visits around 100 flowers per foraging flight, with a maximum speed of up to 19 miles per hour. When things feel heavy (and my daughter is fast asleep) I retreat into what I call my aimeecave. In the cave I detach a bit and pour myself into a project or three. Projects with no expectations; took some watercolor and procreate classes on Skillshare, then watched some Netflix. Also went and got a check-up and scheduled my mammogram. Hello, Lovelies! Hop over to the designer resources page for something new 😉 I’ve surprised myself in the last few months by getting a little sad whenever I see baby clothes. My girl is inching toward her third birthday and talking a bit more (arguing a bit more as well, lol.) Thank you everybody that sent get well ❤️‍🩹 wishes for my little girl. She had a rough few days but is feeling much better. Just trying to work on her appetite now. So far she’s okay with nibbling on waffles and blueberries. Thankfully she took fluids well and didn’t get dehydrated. My toddler had fevers last night so, naturally, I stayed up staring at her sleep and taking her temperature. First time she’s been sick in 2 years. It’s been a low grade fever all day. She was sick 5 times from 3-6 months (first 3 months of daycare were a nightmare) but after we went into lockdown she stayed healthy. Hoping she bounces back quickly, I’m relearning how to take care of a sick baby. So far she’s just been a little clingy and running around less. We were going to go to the Children’s Zoo today but instead we are resting. Also, her cousin was sent home from school and down with fever yesterday afternoon so we’re pretty sure they have the same thing since they were together twice this week. The color palette I’m working with at the moment. 🤍 Today I’d actually just like to lay down and sleep, like, all day. I’m sure that won’t happen. 🤍 My childhood summers were all about berry picking and calamine lotion… since, in our quest, we always caught poison ivy.
